In what must be one of the most challenging passages of the Gospel, Jesus tells us, ‘Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble’. (Mt 6:34) So when he teaches us how to pray, he tells us to pray for our daily bread. Like the Israelites in the desert who received enough manna for each day, we ask our Father to give us enough of what we need every day.
Often we are too preoccupied and anxious when we face our many problems, we feel overwhelmed because we are convinced that our own strength is not enough. We end up paralysed by our anxieties and fears, actually doing very little to deal with our difficulties. Yet, Jesus reassures us we are never alone, we can turn every day to God whom we can trust never to abandon us. He even reassures us that he is there even when we do not follow his will, for he sends the sun and the rain on all, good and bad alike.
At the same time, Jesus is clearly encouraging us to ask God for what we need. Not because God needs to be informed or reminded of what our needs are, but because it is good for us to acknowledge our need of God. It is anything but demeaning to remind ourselves that we are cared for every day in all our needs by someone who loves us unconditionally.
Moreover, praying for our daily bread helps us clarify to ourselves what we really need, what we consider more important and worth having. Jesus was very clear on this, he advised us ‘to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these [other] things will be added to you’. (Mt 6:33)
Jesus once told the crowds, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst…If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. ’ (Jn 6:35, 51) Let us ask to be given this bread every day, so that we can have the same filial sentiments of our brother Jesus. Let us pray that our relationship with Jesus may grow every day, and that our faith in his presence in the Eucharist may flourish.
At the moment for saying farewell, or better still, arrivederci, I once more remind everyone of what counts most in life: blessed Jesus Christ, His Holy Church, His Gospel; and in the Gospel, above all, the Our Father in the spirit and heart of Jesus and the Gospel, the truth and goodness, the goodness meek and kind, active and patient, victorious and unbowed. Padre nostro, dacci oggi il nostro pane quotidiano
In uno dei passi più impegnativi del Vangelo, Gesù ci dice: ‘Non siate in affanno per il domani, perché il domani avrà già il suo affanno. A ogni giorno è sufficiente la sua preoccupazione’. (Mt 6,34) Per cui quando ci insegna come pregare, ci dice di pregare per il nostro pane quotidiano. Come gli Israeliti nel deserto che ricevevano manna sufficiente per ogni giorno, chiediamo a nostro Padre di darci ciò che ci è necessario per ciascun giorno.
Spesso siamo troppo preoccupati e in ansia quando dobbiamo affrontare I nostri tanti problemi, ci sentiamo sopraffatti perché siamo convinti che le nostre forze non siano sufficienti. Finiamo per essere paralizzati dalle nostre ansie e paure, facendo concretamente molto poco per risolvere le nostre difficoltà. Ma Gesù ci rassicura che non siamo mai soli, possiamo rivolgerci ogni giorno a Dio, su cui possiamo contare che non ci abbandonerà mai. Egli ci rassicura anche che Lui è lì anche quando non seguiamo la sua volontà, perché Lui manda il sole e la pioggia su tutti, buoni e cattivi.
Allo stesso tempo, Gesù ci sta incoraggiando a chiedere a Dio ciò di cui abbiamo bisogno. Non perché Dio abbia bisogno di essere informato, o che gli ricordiamo quali sono le nostre necessità, ma perché è bene per noi prendere coscienza che abbiamo bisogno di Dio. Non è per niente avvilente ricordarci che c’è qualcuno che ci ama incondizionatamente e che si prende cura di noi nelle nostre necessità quotidiane.
Inoltre pregare per il nostro pane quotidiano ci aiuta a chiarire a noi stessi di cosa abbiamo bisogno davvero, cosa consideriamo più importante e che valga la pena di avere. Gesù è stato molto chiaro su questo, ci ha consigliato: ‘di cercare prima il Regno di Dio e la sua giustizia, e tutte le altre cose vi saranno date in aggiunta’. (Mt 6,33)
Gesù una volta ha detto alle folle: ‘Io sono il pane di vita, chiunque verrà a me non avrà più fame e chiunque crede in me non avrà più sete… Se uno mangia di questo pane vivrà per sempre. ’ (Gv 6,35, 51). Chiediamo che ci sia dato questo pane ogni giorno, in modo da avere gli stessi sentimenti filiali del nostro fratello Gesù. Preghiamo che la nostra relazione con Gesù possa crescere ogni giorno e che possa fiorire la nostra fede nella sua presenza nell’eucarestia.
Nell’ora dell’addio, o meglio, dell’arrivederci, ancora richiamo a tutti ciò che più vale nella vita: Gesù Cristo benedetto: la sua Santa Chiesa, il suo Vangelo, e, nel Vangelo, soprattutto il Padre Nostro nello spirito e nel cuore di Gesù e del Vangelo, la verità e la bontà, la bontà mite e benigna, operosa e paziente, invitta e vittoriosa. Ati Ynë… , bukën tonë të përditshme jepna neve sot
Në atë që duhet të jetë një nga mësimet më sfiduese të Ungjillit, Jezui na thotë: “Mos u brengosni për te nesërmen , sepse e nesërmja do të kujdeset vete për vete. Secilës ditë i del mjaft pikëllimi i vet”. (Mt 6:34) Pra, kur na mëson si të lutemi, na thotë të lutemi për bukën tonë të përditshme. Ashtu si izraelitët në shkretëtirë, që pranuan manën e mjaftueshme për çdo ditë, ne kërkojmë nga Ati ynë që të na japë mjaftueshëm atë që na nevojitet për çdo ditë.
Shpesh jemi shumë të shqetësuar dhe të merakosur kur gjendemi në shumë probleme, ndihemi të tronditur sepse jemi të bindur se forca jonë nuk është e mjaftueshme. Ne përfundojmë të paralizuar nga ankthet dhe frikërat tona, dhe faktikisht duke bërë shumë pak përpjekje për t’i përballuar ato. Megjithatë, Jezusi na siguron që ne nuk jemi kurrë të vetëm, mund t’i drejtohemi Hyjit çdo ditë, për të cilin besojmë qe nuk mund te na braktisë kurrë . Ai madje na siguron që është atje edhe kur nuk ndjekim vullnetin e tij, sepse ai dërgon diellin dhe shiun mbi të gjithë, të mirë dhe të keqinj njësoj.
Në të njëjtën kohë, Jezusi na inkurajon qartë që t’i kërkojmë Hyjit atë që na nevojitet. Jo sepse Hyji do që të jetë i informuar ose që ti kujtojmë Atij për nevojat tona, por sepse është mirë që ne ta pranojmë nevojën që kemi për Hyjin. Në këtë rast , nuk është gjë tjetër veçse ndjejmë veten të përulur që të kemi nevojë të jemi të kujdesur në çdo moment e në çdo gjë , nga dikush që na do pa kushte.
Për më tepër, duke u lutur për bukën tonë të përditshme, na ndihmon të qartësohemi në veten tonë se për çfarë kemi me të vërtetë nevojë, atë që ne e konsiderojmë më të rëndësishme dhe më me vlerë. Jezusi ishte shumë i qartë për këtë, ai na këshilloi “të kërkojmë së pari mbretërinë e Hyjit dhe drejtësinë e Tij dhe të gjitha këto do të na jepen si shtesë ”. (Mt 6:33)
Jezusi u tha një herë turmave: ‘Unë jam buka e jetës; kushdo që vjen tek unë nuk do të ketë uri dhe kushdo që beson në mua nuk do të ketë më kurrë etje. Nëse dikush ha nga kjo bukë, ai do të jetojë përgjithmonë. ‘(Gjn 6, 35, 51) Le të kërkojmë që kjo bukë të jepet çdo ditë, në mënyrë që të kemi të njëjtat lloje ndjenjash të vëllait tonë Jezus. Le të lutemi që marrëdhënia jonë me Jezusin të rritet çdo ditë dhe që besimi ynë në praninë e tij në Eukaristi të mund të lulëzojë.
Në këtë moment për të thënë lamtumirë, ose më mirë akoma, mirëupafshim,edhe njëherë ju kujtoj të gjithëve atë që ka më së shumti vlerë në jetë: për të bekuar Jezu Krishtin, Kishën e Tij të Shenjtë, Ungjillin e Tij; dhe në Ungjill, mbi të gjitha, Atin Tonë në shpirtin dhe zemrën e Jezusit dhe Ungjillin, të vërtetën dhe mirësinë , mirësinë e butë dhe të dashur, aktive dhe të durueshme, fitimtare dhe e pamposhtur.
